Our Digestion Panel – Level 2 is a more detailed laboratory assessment for dogs where digestive function, pancreatic health or fat digestion may be a concern.
The panel includes an assessment that provides supportive information about the pancreas and its ability to produce digestive enzymes. It also includes a qualitative assessment of undigested lipids and other relevant digestive material within the faecal sample.
This panel may be useful for dogs with persistent or recurrent digestive concerns. These may include changes in stool quality, unexplained weight loss, poor body condition or concerns about the digestion of dietary fat.
By combining an assessment of pancreatic digestive function with faecal microscopy, Level 2 provides more detailed supportive information than our Level 1 Digestion Panel.
The Digestion Panel does not provide a standalone diagnosis of a specific pancreatic or gastrointestinal condition. Consider the findings alongside the dog’s diet, appetite, body condition, stool quality, clinical history and any other relevant veterinary investigations.
If the findings indicate that further investigation may be appropriate, we recommend discussing the results with your veterinary surgeon.
Our trained laboratory team performs and reviews each component before issuing the results.
The laboratory report presents the pancreatic digestive assessment alongside the faecal lipid and microscopic digestion findings. Free after-test advice is available where required.
